Review Notes

Following the two excellent Die! Die! Die! recordings from 2005 - their debut self-titled EP release, and a similarly self-titled mini-album - the hard-working, globe-jaunting three piece return with yet another high-energy, raucous slab of punk.
Die! Die! Die! have spent a significant amount of time over the last couple of years touring and playing overseas, sharing stages with like-minded bands in cities like New York (where this EP was recorded), London and Melbourne, and seem to have grown even more assured with their songwriting and performance as a result.
As per their earlier recordings, the band don't muck about - the four songs on this EP clock in at just under 10 minutes, but pack in same amount of energy and noise that'd keep most bands happy over the course of a full-length album. From the frenetic drum and bass driven guitar squall of the opener 'I Wanna', to the dying distorted chords of final track '155', Die! Die! Die! propel the listener along with a wall of noise that owes a nod perhaps to Steve Albini's Shellac, and Ian McKaye's Minor Threat and Fugazi - music with no sense of pretension, but with plenty of attitude and power. With their offshore profile already growing thanks to their grueling touring schedule, this release is sure to help further them along the path to even wider musical success.
A short, sharp burst of refreshingly vital Punk rock to tide us over until the (hopefully not far away) new album. Recommended. (smokecds.com)
