The Go! Team's disco-pop-electro-rock hits you like a shot of sugar in the arm, living up to their self-description as "a cross between Sonic Youth, 60's girl groups, electro, a car chase and a Double Dutch team".
Way back in 2000 their cut 'n' paste beats and borrowed hooks brought what was initially a one-man project to the attention of legendary DJ John Peel. The resulting interest forcing founder Ian Parton into court, then eventually onto the stage with a six-piece group and cleared samples.
In 2005 the 'legal' version of the 'Team's 2004 UK release Thunder, Lightening, Strike hit the international charts at the same time as their Mercury Prize nomination was announced, and the Brighton-based group became darlings of the festival circuit.
This limited edition 2006 EP was released to coincide with the group's energetic Big Day Out appearances, and includes a spectacular Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine) mash up of "Huddle Foundation" and "Ladyflash" amongst alternative, live and original edits of both of those hits.
