Review Notes

Aptly titled fourth album from Evan Short and Matt Harvey - High bpm, banging D n' B, frantic yet highly orchestrated and of the world class standard that we've come to expect from this duo.
In the three years since the brilliant Uprising their high quality output has not gone unnoticed, with well respected DnB labels like Metalheadz and Hospital lining up to release Concord Dawn material. It could be argued that Concord Dawn are our most successful musical export and listening to Chaos By Design, it's easy to see why these guys are getting such huge props abroad.
Harvey and Short have once again roped in a stellar cast of guest vocalists to collaborate on several of the albums best cuts. Tiki Tane (Salmonella Dub), Gramsci's Paul McLaney and a name that seems to be popping up every week now- Hollie Smith all weigh in giving Chaos By Design more variation than you're usual straight up Drum n' Bass record.
Opener "Broken Eyes" continues what seems to be a Concord Dawn tradition of starting their albums with a bang. A frantic mass of bass and beats but with a vocal and guitar hook so memorable, you'll actually find yourself singing along. The same goes for "Man Of All Seasons" the track that features Paul McLaney whose always smooth voice sounds surprisingly at home with the tunes more Hardhouse/Trance feel. It's not hard to imagine this track becoming a club anthem both locally and abroad. Just one of the many highlights on an extremely strong record. Highly Recommended (smokecds.com)
